About two months ago Fuhu, a company that specializes in tablets for children, announced a pair of new devices: the Nabi Jr. for small children and the Nabi XD for teens to be released early this year. It looks like the company is about to make good on its promise, since the Fuhu Nabi Jr. and the Fuhu Nabi XD have appeared on Best Buy’s website priced at $99.99 and $249.99 respectively.
Fuhu Nabi Jr. vs. Nabi XD – Overview
The Fuhu Nabi Jr., though undoubtedly will serve as a play toy, is in fact a real tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, heavily customized to accommodate the needs of the youngest users. Designed with pre-school children in mind, the tablet is build to withstand any rough treatment a small child can deliver. It features a 5-inch WVGA display, a Tegra 2 processor, 4 GB of internal storage, a 2 megapixel swiveling webcam.
The Fuhu Nabi XD, on the other hand, is definitely not a toy. The tablet boasts a 10.1-inch 720p display and a 2 megapixel camera and is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. There is also 16 GB of internal storage and a customized version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Both tablets come with parent-friendly software that allows to control the content accessed by a child and block all the bad stuff that is lurking around the Internet.
