Budget virtual network FreedomPop is already popular on the market for delivering plans for a cheap. Today, quite unexpectedly, the service provider launched its first own-branded smartphone which is quite unique. Called FreedomPop V7, the handset costs less than $100 and comes with a SIM card packed with free calls, free data and even free WhatsApp messages. Except for free services and darn low pricing the phone offers quite decent user experience.
FreedomPop releases its first own-branded smartphone which is sold dirt cheap and comes with a SIM card pre-loaded with free services.
The well-known MVNO FreedomPop surprised the mobile world by launching its very first Android smartphones. Although at first sight the FreedomPop V7 looks like the most of low-cost devices sporting solid bezels and three capacitive buttons, it also features aluminum frame and skateboard-style grip finish, which brings to mind inspirations derived from the OnePlus One design.
Specs-wise, the phone offers not the best components ever, but respectable one given its price tag of $75. For that money you will get a 5-inch device with IPS LCD screen driven by a Snapdragon 210 processor coupled with 1GB RAM. Such computing parameters should deliver proper Android Marshmallow experience the handset runs out of box. Furthermore, kept alive by a 2,100 mAh battery the phone provides its users with 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded by another 32GB using microSD cards. In the optics department, the device offers a combination of a 13MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing shooter.
As for services, using Wi-Fi calling technology FreedomPop V7 switches between cellular network and Wi-Fi to give you warranty of making a call on the strongest connection. So far, the phone has been released to the UK and Spanish markets, but the company hasn’t revealed details concerning the SIM plan yet. However, taking into account that it will come with free WhatsApp messages, we can assume it also include 100 minutes of calls, 200 texts and 200MB of data per month at no cost. But, if you reach these pretty restricted limits, you will be charged extra money.
Later this year the phone is expected to port to the US shore. However, If you happen to be in the UK or Spain you can visit the FreedomPop website and grab the phone for just $75. Just make a quick purchase decision as the company warns that the stock is limited.
