Forget about the Xperia Z4, Sony may announce the Xperia Z5 in October

Xperia LogoNot so long ago Sony introduced the Xperia Z4, but numerous recent reports suggest that the Japanese company is already preparing to release next flagship – the Xperia Z5. This move may be explained by the fact that the Xperia Z4 was a really modest upgrade versus its predecessor, the Z3 from 2014. Rumored to debut in October the new Xperia Z5 is said to come with a package of flagship specs and completely new approach to body design.

Sony Xperia Z5Sony has been accused of releasing twin like generation of Xperia smartphones, which don’t differ much one from another when it comes to its body design. The Xperia Z4 is no exception. The phone is almost no different from the Xperia Z3. No wonder then that the manufacturer wants to atone for their mistakes and is on its way to launch another generation of Xperia series. The Xperia Z5 is rumored to be a worthy successor to the well-received Xperia Z3 and speak totally new design language.

According to the latest leaks, the company is about to abandon their current materials that Xperia phones were made of. Instead of glass and metal body shell, the new Xperia Z5 will allegedly come closed in an entirely aluminum body. Another great redesigned may be observed in the iconic power key, which will be made considerably bigger so as to include a fingerprint scanner.

The flat back cover of the Xperia Z5 will sport a camera sensor located on the top left corner. The camera will most likely be a 20-megapixel shooter that will be additionally accompanied by a selfie-friendly 10-megapixel front-facing sensor featuring face detection tech. However, judging by the camera size, it won’t feature the Optical Image Stabilization.

Moving on, the phone is rumored to house a 5.5 –inch Quad HD display and be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset of course if Qualcomm manages to release it by then. The slate’s performance speed will be supported by 4GB RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. The Xperia Z5 will also sport an innovative USB Type C port. In addition all the great hardware upgrades, the phone is speculated to be kept alive by a massive 4,500 mAh battery with a really fast charging, since Sony is working hard to reduce full charging time in their phones from 2 hours to 30 minutes.

As for the Xperia Z5’s premiere and pricing details, the handset will be allegedly announced in October. As for the pricing, such high-end specs won’t come cheap. The phone is unofficially estimated to cost something round $1100.
