Remember the amazing Oppo Find 7 that Oppo unveiled last month? Starting today you have a chance to get one as the company opened pre-orders for the phone. Well, it’s not exactly the flagship Find 7, but rather its international, slightly slimmed down and unlocked version called the Find 7a, but still it’s a great opportunity to grab a premium phone with a bunch of freebies at a pretty low price. The handset costs $499 in the US and €399 in Europe and is available through Oppo’s website without any contracts.
Oppo Find 7a vs. Oppo Find 7 Phone
Unlike the Oppo Find 7, which sports state of the art specs such as 1440 x 2560 resolution at 538 ppi and 4k video capture, the Find 7a is more down-to-earth offering. The phone’s 5.5-inch touch screen is of a regular 1080p resolution, which works out to a pixel density of 403 ppi, and 4k video capture is not present, but the device still manages to impress with its hardware. The Find 7a is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and comes with 2 GB of RAM (the Find 7 has one GB more) and 16 GB of internal memory expandable to a whopping 128 GB.
What makes the Find 7a stand out is its camera which features a 13-megapixel sensor and yet is capable of creating 50-megapixel images. How is it possible? Very simple. The camera takes 10 photos in rapid succession and then stitches them together to create a 50-megapixel picture. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and high quality selfies. The phone has a removable 2,800 mAh battery and runs Oppo’s own Color OS which is based on Android Jelly Bean.
As reported earlier, the Oppo Find 7a will be delivered with not one or two, but three gifts from Oppo. For starters, you will get an Easy-Cover which will let you see a part of the screen without having to open the cover, similar to LG‘s Quick Window and Samsung‘s S-View. The gift basket also includes a 32 GB microSD card and a second 2,800 mAh battery. Fine print says that the freebies are available while supplies last, so if you are considering ordering the phone you might want to do it rather sooner than later.
