Panasonic may not be the most famous brand in the smartphone world but its products can be found in most countries across the world. Since today, May 17, one more can be added to the list. The Japanese company launched the Panasonic P51 in India. The phone will go on sale next week and will be available for 26,900 rupees, which is about $517. While the price level may seem a bit high, it is still a very competitive deal when compared to other similarly spec’d offerings. Also, it is worth noting that the device will be sold with magnetic flip cover and stylus.

The Panasonic P51 packs a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor. There is 1 GB of RAM accompanying the chip and 4 GB of internal memory. Too little, you may say. No worries. There also microSD slot compatible with up to 32 GB cards, so you will have plenty of space for all your content.
The phone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, as well as a 1.3-megapixel 720p front-facing camera. The P51 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which for the time being is the latest version of the OS. Other features include dual-SIM support, 3G HSDPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and a 2,500 mAh battery good for up to 23 hours talk time on 2G and up to 40 hours music playback.
