It seems like Microsoft continues to keep their word to deliver more affordable mobile gadgets running Windows 8.1 with Dell appearing to be the latest manufacturer to produce a Windows tablet with pocket friendly price at $199.99. The upcoming Dell Venue 8 Pro 3000 tablet strongly resembles the introduced last year 5000 Series but costs $50 less. If consider buying a mid-range tablet running latest version of Windows at affordable price, you may be interested in the Dell’s offer.
Dell Venue 8 Pro 3000 Windows 8.1 Tablet
As there always seems to be more audience for the high-end Windows tablets like the Surface Pro line, the same may refer to the other end of the market. And the truth is that recently we can observe a flood of budget friendly tablets hitting the mobile industry market. Just in the last few weeks we got the Toshiba’s 7-inch Windows 8.1 slate for $119, the 10-inch E Fun model for $179 that will be soon sold by Walmart and the Acer’s Iconia Tab 8W also featuring latest Windows OS priced at $149.99. Of course, the Dell’s Venue 8 Pro 8000’s price can’t beat the Acer’s offer, but it still occurs to be pretty good deal as for a Windows tablet.
Frankly speaking, it’s unclear what kind of advantage over the Acer’s Tab 8W give us those extra 50 bucks we had to pay for the latest Dell tablet, since both device’s specs lists are pretty much identical. So, when purchasing the Venue 8 Pro 3000 we will get an 8-inch 1280 x 800p IPS display, Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 32GB of expandable built-in storage. In terms of optics, the slate goes equipped with a 5MP main camera and 1.2MP front-facing shooter.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. Though this measuring 8.5x 5.1×0.35 inches device speaks the same design language as the Venue Pro 5000 series we won’t get the higher-end 5000’s 2GB RAM nor the active digitizer and support for pressure-sensitive pen input. But, as nothing comes for free the company in order to deliver a cheap Windows 8.1 tablet had to do some hardware cuts.
The Venue 8 Pro 3000 standard model is available in traditional black. But, if black isn’t your favorite color, you can purchase the Venue 8 Pro 3000 in shinny white color scheme, but remember that it will cost you $20 more than the basic black option. Additionally, you may also get the tablet with the Dell Duo tablet case which will cost you another $15. The basic case color is blue, but you can also choose among red, purple, grey and black. What’s more you can also buy the gadget with a stylus and folio case for $229.99. And the last but definitely not least, the Venue 8 Pro 3000 goes on sale with a free year Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription.
