Venue 8 7000 SeriesAnnounced in September 2014 at the Intel’s Developer Forum the Dell Venue 8 7000 Android tablet, today goes officially on sale priced at $400. Hailed the world’s slimmest tablet, the Venue 8 7000 is showing the world how much high-end hardware can be packed into such an ultra-thin body, simultaneously dictating new design standards other tablet makers should take to their heart.

Dell Venue 8 7000 high-end ultra-slim Android tablet features new design standards.

Dell’s Venue 8 7000 SeriesFeaturing a premium high-resolution 2560x1600p 8.4-inch OLED display with the edge to edge infinity, the Venue 8 7000 comes almost without bezels encircling the top part of the screen, however the slate’s bottom edge is a bit wider since it has to house the MaxxAudio Waves speakers.

The device is powered by an 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM. Additionally, as opposed to what we learnt in September, there’s a MicroSD slot capable to support up to 512GB, which is a great news since the device houses only 16GB of built-in storage.

In the field of software, the Dell Venue 8 7000 users will currently get Android 4.4 Kitkat, but Dell promises to update the OS with the Lollipop upgrade soon. What’s more interesting, the slate is the first tablet that comes equipped an 8-megapixel camera with the Intel’s RealSense 3D Camera, which thanks to attaching the depth map to every photo allows you to edit the picture once it has been made. In other words, it means that you can change the focus or adjust the brightness in already taken pictures. The mentioned 8-megapixel rear shooter is accompanied by a 2-megapixel one located on the device’s front side.

As for the connectivity options, the Venue 8 7000 packs support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Miracasta and Micro USB 2.0. The massive 5,900 mAh battery generates the energy that is necessary to keep the tablet’s lights on.

The ultra thin and extremely minimalistic body of the Venue 8 7000 measures only 6mm thick and weights 305 grams, which means that the slate wins “the world’s slimmest tablet” title overtaking the super slim iPad Air 2 by just 0.1 mm.

If you have been taken by the Dell’s Venue 8 7000 slim body and mouth-watering specs, you may buy it just right now via Dell official website with prices beginning from $400.
