Boost Mobile was expected to start offering the Samsung Galaxy S III some time in June, but until today we did not have any solid information either on exact launch date or pricing. Now we do. The carrier announced today that the Galaxy S III will be available starting June 12 for an affordable price of $399.99 with no contract obligations. The phone will run on Boost Mobile using Sprint LTE network which is currently available in 88 markets. Customers in other areas will have to make do with EvDo 3G.
Samsung Galaxy S III for Boost Mobile
Boost Mobile customers will be allowed to pair the Samsung Galaxy S III to the $55 Android Monthly Unlimited plan. That money will get them unlimited talk, text and 2.5 GB of high speed data. This plan comes with a feature called Shrinking Payments which basically means that you can reduce your monthly payments by up to $15. For every six on-time payments $5 are taken from your bill adding to a total of $15 after 18 payments. As a result the plan’s cost goes down to $40.
The Galaxy S III offered by Boost Mobile will be identical to the one you can find on other carriers. Key features include a 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and 2 GB of RAM. The phone also boasts two cameras. The 8-megapixel sensor on the back comes with a zero shutter-lag and is capable of 1080p video capture. There is also a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and offers features such as S Beam, Share Shot and AllShare Play.
