Blu Vivo IV is just 5.5 mm thick and comes at even more attractive price tag of $299 without contract
The ultimate symbol of quality in smartphone world is Apple’s iPhone. Right behind it are such manufacturers as Samsung with its Galaxy S series, HTC with the One lineup, LG and its G family, Sony’s Xperia phones and a few more. All offer premium hardware and advanced software solutions but there is a small problem with those devices – they are expensive, especially off contract. Users who can’t afford to spend so much money have only one choice – settle for more modest offerings. Wait a minute, that’s not exactly true because BLU has just released the Blu Vivo IV which is only 5.5 mm thick and comes at even more attractive price tag of $299 without contract.
5-inch Blu Vivo IV Android Smartphone
With its 5.5 mm frame, the new Blu Vivo IV is the current record holder for the world’s thinnest smartphone. It even beats the iPhone 6 which measures 6.9 mm in thickness. In addition to being thin, the Vivo IV also has tiny bezels which makes the phone look pretty compact despite having a large 5-inch 1080p display.
Clocked at just 1.7GHz, the processor may seem a tad slow, but since it has eight cores and is supported by 2GB of RAM and ARM Mali 450 graphics, it shouldn’t give you any significant problems and overall experience is likely to be very enjoyable.
The Vivo IV will make a great device for photography enthusiasts as it is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a large 5-megapixel selfie shooter with a 95-degree wide-angle lens. The phone also comes with 16GB of internal memory and a 2,300 mAh battery. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have microSD slot for storage expansion and it runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which is already two generations old.
To say that $299 off contract is affordable would be a bit of an understatement especially considering that this is the price of some smartphones with a two-year agreement. Sure you could find even cheaper phones, but it’s more than certain that any of them wouldn’t offer the class of hardware that the Blu Vivo IV does and most likely would be as ugly as sin. So, unless you really want to have a phone of the most popular brand recognizable worldwide, the Blu Vivo IV might be an interesting alternative to consider.
