BLU might not use groundbreaking technology in its phones but the company has found another way to attract customers. BLU’s strategy is to offer decent hardware at wallet-friendly prices, and this is the case with the company’s latest offering, the BLU Vivo 4.8 HD. $249 is the price you will have to pay for an unlocked and contract-free phone with mid-range specs. BLU already started shipping the device to various distributor and online retailers in the US and Latin America meaning that the phone should be available within the next few days.
BLU Vivo 4.8 HD Unlocked Phone
The BLU Vivo 4.8 HD is a mid-ranger aimed at those customers who don’t feel like signing lengthy contracts with carriers, thus are looking for unlocked inexpensive phones.
Unlike other phones at this price level which tend to be somewhat bulky, BLU’s offering is a pretty slim piece of equipment measuring just 0.27-inch (6.9 mm) in thickness. Its slim body hides a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and a 2,000 mAh battery.
On the front resides, unsurprisingly, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with HD (720 x 1280) resolution above which you can find a 5-megapixel user-facing camera. The main camera in the back snaps photos at 8 megapixels.
Other features of the Vivo 4.8 HD include 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps), Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS navigation, Bluetooth 4.0, micro-USB, FM radio and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
In addition to typical Matte Black and Ceramic White hues, BLU added two more color options to the mix – Electric Neon Yellow and Glimmer Pink.
