After getting knee deep into financial problems, you would think that BlackBerry will try to take it easy, for some time at least. But the company is not ready to give up just yet. In fact, the manufacturer has just confirmed its rumored luxury smartphone, the Porsche Design P’9982. Just looking at the name, it wouldn’t be hard to figure out that the phone will be aimed at a very specific group of customers, the ones that have very thick wallets. The device will be priced at $2,350 in the US, £1,450 in the UK and €1,650 in Europe.
Porsche Design P’9982 vs. BlackBerry Z10
In its essence, the Porsche Design P’9982 is a slightly tweaked model of the BlackBerry Z10, the same phone that is responsible for company huge loss this year. However, the new revamped version was created with cooperation with Porsche Design and basically this is what makes the device so special. Thanks to the cooperation the phone scored itself new look and Porsche Design logo above the screen. Moreover, it offers 64 GB of internal memory and an expandable microSD card slot.
Other than that, the list of specs sounds familiar. The Blackberry Porsche Design P’9982 includes a 4.2-inch 1,280 x 768 display, a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor, 2 GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera. If you want the world to know that you spent a small fortune on your knew phone, there is an easy way to do so. All you have to do is punch in a special BBM pin code while signing into the service and voilà. Like its predecessor, the Porsche Design P’9981, will be available exclusively from Harrods department stores.
