The luxury phone designer Vertu presented today its first smartphone developed in partnership with the luxury car manufacturer, Bentley. The first product of this tandem is called “Bentley Signature Touch” and will be available as a limited edition offered by the Vertu’s official boutiques this month with price tag of €12,500 which is around $16,000. Let’s check what we can get when the high-end English automobile and mobile brands combine their efforts in order to create a smartphone.
Vertu’s Bentley Signature Touch Smartphone
Since the Bentley Signature Touch is said to base on the unveiled earlier this year Vertu Signature Touch, we shouldn’t expect too many changes in the field of the phone’s specs. Which means that anyone rich enough to buy this ultra luxurious phone will get a high-end, running Android 4.4 Kitkat handset that sports a 4.7-inch display with 1080p resolution and sapphire layer protection. The smartphone is also said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3Ghz.
When it comes to optics, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied by 2.1-megapixel front shooter. Other specs include 64GB of built-in storage, LTE, NFC and Qi charging. But, there is also a change in the phone’s parameters that cannot definitely be called an improvement. The Bang and Olufsen speakers have been replaced by not so good Dolby Digital Plus speakers.
Even if the tech specs aren’t anything surprising as for this class handset, the Bentley Signature Touch is reported to be more exclusive version of the Vertu Signature Touch in terms of its design. The handset’s titanium body is covered by quilted calf leather with diamond ornament and Bentley’s traditional tan-like color scheme. Obviously, there’s also a Bentley logo located below the screen of the handset.
If all these isn’t still enough for you, the smartphone along with the Vertu’s traditional concierge service is said to go on sale sporting exclusive Bentley content, like the special Bentley’s apps, wallpapers, driving routes and a unique 3D animation start-up.
The limited edition of two thousand Bentley Signature Touch phones hits the manufacturer’s boutiques later this month. Time will verify whether this sophisticated, handcrafted smartphone turns out to be a great success of the Vertu and Bentley five-year partnership.
