We first told you about AT&T’s pre-paid service Aio Wireless in May, when it was launched in Houston, Tampa, and Orlando. Since then, the service expanded to Texas, Chicago and Metro-Atlanta area. However, beginning mid-September, Aio Wireless will be available to customers nationwide. As a special promotion, AT&T will give you a free month of service if you sign up before September 29th. The only condition is that you have to keep your account active for at least three months.
AT&T’s Aio Wireless Service Provider
AT&T’s Aio Wireless is a direct competitor to T-Mobile’s new plans. The service comes in the form of three simple plans that allow you to take advantage of AT&T’s 4G LTE network with no need to sign contracts. Each of the plans includes unlimited talk, text and data. There is one catch, though. There is a cap on high-speed data and it depends on the plan you choose. Once you hit that cap, the speed is reduced, however you are still able to access the internet.
The plans start at $40 with Aio Wireless Basic, which is available only with feature phones. High-speed data includes 250 MB. There are also two plans for smartphone users. Aio Smart costs $55 per month and offers you 2 GB of high-speed data. Aio Pro comes with 7 GB of high-speed data. AT&T has a selection of devices to go with the service, with smartphones starting at $49.99. The carrier will also allow you to bring your own phone for activation on the Aio network.
