Remember the days when a foldable Motorola Razr V3 was one of the most sophisticated phones everyone was crazy about? If you too feel a bit nostalgic about the clamshell design, ZTE may have something for you. Equipped with two identical displays, the ZTE Axon M is certainly one of the most innovative smartphones announced in 2017. Those curious about the device’s dual-screen real-life functionality may now check how it works in practice as the phone is currently available through AT&T online store.
ZTE Axon M featuring clamshell design is now ready to buy for as little as $24 a month through AT&T.
Today, AT&T expanded its portfolio by another eye-catching device which surprises with a unique approach to design. Announced in October, the Axon M is the ZTE’s first attempt at delivering a foldable smartphone. The newly released device derives from the 2011 Kyocera Echo and packs a list of specs that locates it in the upper-end of the mid-range segment of the mobile market. The foldable aspect of the Axon M relies on a special hinge bounding two 5.2-inch LCD screen panels, which together can form a gigantic 6.75-inch display.
Such solution should provide the handset’s users with advanced multitasking capabilities and unprecedented viewing experience. Driven by the Snapdragon 821 processor, the phone offers 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, which may be easily expanded by additional 256GB using microSD cards. As for optics, they come represented by a single 20MP camera which is both a rear-facing and selfie sensor. Everything here depends on how you turn the handset. The Axon M works on Android 7.1 Nougat with Oreo update on the horizon.
Moving on to the AT&T’s offer on the ZTE Axon M, the device may be yours for just $24.17 if you sign up for the carrier’s Next 30-month installment plan. However, if for some reason you don’t like the idea of monthly payments, you can also purchase the device paying its full retail price upfront. In such case, the phone will cost you $725.10. Sure you can score the Galaxy S8 on AT&T Next plan for only $25 per month, or the LG V30 for as little as $27. Meanwhile, the LG current flagship G6 is within your reach for just $19.50. But does any of these phones gives you the privilege of dual-screen setup?
Already open for pre-order, the Axon M is scheduled to hit brick-and-mortar stores on November 17th. However, don’t expect to see the device at any other carrier as it’s an AT&T exclusive offering.
