Last year T-Mobile set a new standard with its early upgrade and no-contract plans and it was just a matter of time until other carriers would start taking similar steps. And they better do, because frankly speaking, being stuck with one phone for two years feels like a huge misunderstanding in the era when new smartphones are being announced and released on a daily basis. If you are an AT&T subscriber, you can start thinking about a brand new handset, because those two years just got cut down to six months.
AT&T Next and Mobile Share Value plans
AT&T announced yesterday (January 20th) that existing customers who signed a 2-year contract can now grab a brand new phone after six months as long as they switch to AT&T Next and move to Mobile Share Value plans which will let you save $15 monthly on the cost of the service. As an additional bonus, the down price of your new phone will be $0. Yes, that’s a zero, no digits are missing here.
The offer is good for all existing customers who signed a contract before January 18th, which is when the program went into effect. If you are not sure whether you are eligible or not, you can check by dialing *NEW#. However, if the date on your contract says January 19th or later, you will not be able to take advantage of the offer. Duration of your contract will be shortened to 20 months instead of the usual 24, though.
