As expected earlier, AT&T has officially announced upcoming release of LG Optimus G Pro on its network. The phone will be available for purchase on May 10 via carrier’s website as well as in local stores. The carrier will start accepting pre-orders around week earlier, which is Friday, May 3. At this point it seems that AT&T will be the only carrier in the US that will offer the latest LG’s flagship smartphone at subsidized price with contract.
5.5-inch LG Optimus G Pro Phablet for AT&T
AT&T will sell the LG Optimus G Pro at price of $199.99 with two-year contract, which is actually the same price that you would pay for other high-end smartphones, such as Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One. If you want to score the phone for $99, you can bring your old phone now, and get a $100 discount thanks to the new AT&T trade-in program.
The LG Optimus G Pro on AT&T network comes equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which translates to an impressive 400 ppi. The phablet is powered by a quad-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor supported by 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and 3,140 mAh battery. The handset gives users 32GB of internal storage expandable via and microSD card support.
The phone also offers a 13-megapixel main camera, 2.1 megapixel front-facing shooter, Dual Full HD Recording, 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, VuTalk, QSlide 2.0 for convenient multitasking, and some of LG‘s customizations to the software. It looks like the LG Optimus G Pro will be available only in a black color version on AT&T network for now.
