Remember the Asus PadFone lineup? The latest addition to the series, the PadFone Infinity, has been available since April this year, but its price range may put it out of reach of some users. However, the smartphone – tablet combo generated sales results high enough to encourage Asus to expand its availability to more customers. In order to do so, the company adjusted the size of both the smartphone and the tablet-like dock, which in turn will translate into more affordable price. The Asus PadFone Mini will be announced at a dedicated event in Taiwan on December 11th. Invitations have already been sent out.
Asus PadFone Mini – What do we know so far.
Just like previous models in the series, the PadFone Mini will include a smartphone and a tablet-like dock station. The idea behind this innovative solution is that by slipping the phone into the dock you will be able to make use of a bigger screen.
The PadFone Mini hybrid will be smaller than previous models, hence the “Mini” moniker. The smartphone will come with a 4.3-inch display, which is significantly more compact than the 5-inch screen of the PadFone Infinity. The tablet is scaled down to 7 inches from the 10.1 inches of the Infinity version.
The resolution of the phone is said to be 960 x 540 pixels, while the tablet will feature 720p resolution. Other rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and 1 GB of RAM. This is about as much as we can tell you at the moment. For more details we will have to wait until the PadFone Mini becomes official in just a few days.
