From some time now we can observe a specific trend on the mobile market, as more and more phone makers worldwide join the harsh competition to deliver a decent smartphone at the lowest possible price. India-based Intex wants to be no exception here and releases the Aqua Strong 5.1. Being a budget offering the non-Android phone is simultaneously a rather entry-level though quite good-looking device that may be yours for an equivalent of just $75.
Intex introduceed Aqua Strong 5.1. Being a dirt cheap offering the phone packs a 5-inch screen, MediaTek processor and supports 4G LTE speeds.
For starters, although Intex is a little known company here in the States, in its home-market of India it is considered the fourth biggest mobile manufacturer. Known for delivering budget phones Intex has recently expanded its already vibrant affordable phone lineup by another device. Called Aqua Strong 5.1 the phone provides modest hardware and an incredibly low price tag.
Dressed in a poly-carbonate body shell with 9.47 mm thick profile, the phone weight only 150 grams and houses a 5-inch screen panel. The display comes with 854 x 480p of resolution and is covered with Gorilla Glass 2 layer for better scratch protection, which is quite a surprise, as most phones from this price range arrive with Asahi glass. Powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1GHz the handset offers 1GB RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. Those who think that basic storage isn’t spacious enough may easily expand it up to 32GB using microSD cards.
On the optics side, the Aqua Strong 5.1 offers an 5MP primary camera with LED flash on the back and a 2MP snapper on the front with a special panorama mode for group photos, which is so low that it would be ridiculous to call it selfie-friendly. As for battery life, the phone is kept alive by juice generated by as modest as the rest of specs 2,800 mAh cell. Moving on to the connectivity options, the dual-SIM Aqua Strong 5.1 supports 4G LTE, which means that its users can take advantage of the VoLTE calling. Other than that the handset comes with Matrabhasha multi-lingual app and several others popular apps like Opera Max or Clean Master pre-installed.
Offered for something around $75, the Aqua Strong 5.1 will soon be available in various local retailers and online stores across India. So far there’s no word on the phone’s US availability.
