The rumors have been confirmed – Apple will hold a special event on October 22 in San Francisco. We know that because the company started sending out invitations. The invitations actually do not reveal much, only inform us that folks over at Apple “still have a lot to cover”. The invitations are adorned in a colorful leafy patter, which probably is of little importance, unless it refers to a new color scheme introduced with the iPhone 5C.
Apple iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 and Mac Pro 2013
There has been a lots of speculations as to what Apple is planning to announce. At the top of the list sit the iPad 5 and the new iPad Mini 2. The next generation iPad is expected to be thinner, lighter and faster than its predecessor thanks to a 64-bit A7 processor allegedly powering the tablet. The iPad Mini 2 might feature a Retina display and could bring some hardware upgrades to the table. It is said that both devices may sport the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the Home button.
Apart from both iPads, Apple could reveal some details about the Mac Pro 2013. We would definitely like to hear about the specs for the cylindrical desktop as well as its pricing. Another detail “to cover” might be a new Thunderbolt Display. The existing Thunderbolt display has been used in desktops in basically unchanged form since 2011, so it feels like a right time for an upgrade, allegedly running at 4k Ultra HD resolution.
Finally, we might find out release date and pricing of OS X Mavericks, which is the next version of Apple’s desktop platform.
