Last time we heard about Apple’s first smartwatch, known as the iWatch, we learnt that the company was playing around with different display sizes. Now it looks like Apple has made the decision to offer the iWatch in two sizes. Or at least this is what Display Search analyst David Hsieh claimed at a conference in Taiwan. According to Hsieh, the iWatch will be available with display measuring 1.7 inches and 1.3 inches. Why make the device in two sizes? To allow for more personalized experience. The bigger watch will be aimed at men, while the smaller device will be designed with women in mind.
Apple iWatch for Men and Women
Keep in mind that this piece of news is by no means official. However, on the other hand, it is not entirely implausible. First of all, Hsieh is known as a specialist for making accurate predictions about Apple products in the past, that includes the iPhone 5, iPad Mini and iPad 3 refresh. Moreover, the whole idea of making gender-specific smartwatches does not sound far-fetched at all.
The vast majority of electronic devices today are unisex in design and function. There are some exceptions like smartphones or tablets coming in different hues, such hot pink color or with a girly design, but such products are rare on market. Watches are a whole different story, though. The first thing you notice when you look at a typical wristwatch is the difference in size between watches for men and women. Why not apply this rule to smartwatches? It looks like Apple will do it as a pioneer.
