Apple’s latest smartphones are barely out of the gate and the rumor mill about the next iPhone has already started spinning. A Japanese magazine called Mac Fan brings us a fresh batch of speculations about the next iPhone, at the moment referred to as the iPhone 6. According to the magazine, the next-generation iPhone will be released in September 2014, which is not that much of a shocker. Considering Apple’s current release schedule, September next year is actually when we would expect the iPhone 6 to see the light of day.
Apple iPhone 6 – Rumors and speculations
It is the other part of the report that makes us hold our breath. The rumors suggest that Apple may be looking to bring a 5-inch display to the new iPhone. If true, it would be a huge step for the Cupertino company.
If there is one thing that leaves Apple behind other smartphone makers, it would be the screen size. The iPhone 5S features a 4-inch 1,136 x 640 resolution display with a pixel density of 326 ppi. In the era of phablets, it is not much.
The Mac Fan magazines speculates that the iPhone 6 will finally hit the 5-inch mark packing a 5-inch display with a full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution at 440 ppi.
The main challenge for Apple would be optimizing all the apps to the higher resolution screen. It is not impossible, though. There is still almost a whole year to address the issue, so a 5-inch iPhone 6 is not out of the question.
