Just as Apple promised last week, the new iPad Air is available worldwide, starting Today at 8:00 am local time. The latest company’s iPad is now for sale in Apple Store, as well as through select local and online retailers. The tablet with Wi-Fi + cellular connectivity is also up for grabs from major US carriers, such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. US Cellular and regional carriers will offer the iPad Air starting next week, November 8th.
iPad Air – Pricing for Wi-Fi only and LTE models
The 7.5 millimeters thin and weighting mere one pound the iPad Air can be purchased for $499 in the US for 16 GB variant with Wi-Fi connectivity only. The 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of storage will cost you $599, $699 and $799, respectively.
Despite of the tablet’s smaller size, the iPad Air comes equipped with the same 9.7-inch Retina display plus a bigger battery that lasts an estimated 10 hours per charge. With the new A7 processor Apple promises up to 2 times better CPU performance and up to 2 times better graphics performance than you experienced in previous generation iPad 4.
If you are on the market for a tablet with access to internet on the go you will need to be prepared to pay some extra. The iPad Air with Wi-Fi + cellular connectivity is $130 more expensive than a standard version. The 16 GB model with 4G LTE access is priced at $629, while the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants cost $729, $829 and $929. Take a note that the tablet supports most of the LTE networks globally, so if you are road warrior you may consider spending extra.
Personal pickup is available for the new iPad Air as well, so you can buy the new slate online and pick it up as early as Friday without having to wait on any lines.
Along with the iPad Air, the iPad Mini with Retina display is on the way and will be available for purchase sometime next month, however, exact date wasn’t disclosed yet. Stay tuned.
