Apple Invitations.Today Apple sent out invitations for a special event scheduled on October 16th summoning press to be present during the alleged premiere of the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. The event is scheduled to take place in the technology giant home town of Cupertino in California. The October 16th has been circulating over the net for some time, always along with the leaks concerning the iPad Air 2, and just right now the company confirmed it by sending the discussed invitations.

Apple to announce the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 on October 16th

AppleThough it isn’t officially said what will happen during the Apple’s event, we may safely assume that the attendees will get the opportunity to witness the debut of the new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, which is highly probably especially when taking into account the leaked this morning new images of the iPad Air 2.

The invitation simply says “It’s been a long time” and its accompanied by a rainbow-colored Apple logo. It’s like someone at the company is having a joke, since it hasn’t been even a month since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus great unveiling.

In case it somehow skipped your memory, the debuting on October 16th iPad Air 2, which has been the topic no. 1 of countless rumors and leaks, is the first gold iPad and the first that is equipped with a built-in TouchID fingerprint sensor and supports NFC payments using Apple Pay.

Other than that, the new iPad is also rumored to sport a powerful improved processor paired with 2GB RAM and boosted up optics. Quite similar to the iPhone 6, it will be available in three options: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.

But the already mentioned iPad Air 2 and iPad 3 Mini aren’t supposed to be the only stars of the Apple’s press event. The manufacturer is also rumored to present some new desktop hardware, software and few more iPhone 6’s details that weren’t discussed during its launch event. So, we may expect to see the very first iMac with the Retina display and perhaps to learn the launch date of the Apple’s operating system called OS X Yosemite.

What do you think what other products the company can have up to its sleeves?
