Meet the new Apple iPad Pro featuring the biggest display yet, smart keyboard and stylus pencil
Being definitely the largest Apple’s iPad ever build, (iPad Air models feature “only” 9.7-inch screens) the iPad Pro houses a massive 12.9-inch display with 2732x2048p resolution. The significantly bigger display means more space for a full-sized onscreen keyboard not only those traditional but also for things like musical keyboards. Additionally, the iPad Pro screen panel supports a variable refresh rate so that the handset can save energy while handling with less demanding graphics.
The device run the iOS 9 and is powered by the manufacturer’s latest processor, the A9X CPU. The new 64-bit processor is said to be two times faster than its predecessor, the A8X, and delivers smooth, undisturbed multitasking mode of the iOS9, guarantying high functionality and readability of split-screens apps. In fact, the iPad Pro is capable to cope simultaneously with three different 4K video streams in iMovie.
Measuring 6.9mm in profile and weighting 1.57Ib the iPad Pro is 0.7mm thicker than the iPad Air 2 and slightly heavier than weighting 1.54lb the original iPad. In terms of design, the iPad Pro represents the well-known Apple iPad minimalistic look.
Going further into the specs sheet, the iPad Pro will also provide its future users with a battery that keeps the slate running for up to 10 hours. There’s also a new four-speaker audio system and two new accessories enhancing the handset’s input, a Bluetooth keyboard and the high-resolution Apple pencil. This is the first time when Apple decided to equipped its tablet with four speakers featuring auto-balancing technology using left/right and top/bottom combinations of speakers dependently on how you’re holding the slate. If you like figures, the quartet of speakers on the iPad Pro overtakes three times the sound volume of the iPad Air 2.
Moving on to the Apple’s iPad Pro-dedicated accessories, the Smart Keyboard performs the role of a traditional physical typing keyboard and a cover for the tablet, making the device a serious competitor to the Microsoft’s Surface. Built similarly to the new MacBook keyboard the iPad Pro Smart Keyboard’s key are made of woven fabric. Costing us much as $169 the keyboard will be available in November along with the Apple Pencil priced at $99.
The Pencil stylus comes equipped with sensors built into the tip and the back end and a full Lighting connector allowing for recharging the accessory via the iPad Pro. The highly responsive sensors set in the Pencil’s tip can sense pressure, tilt and stroke which should contribute to a comfortable experience for artists. Looking and felling quite like a regular pencil, the Apple Pencil will find its functionality in Mail, Notes and a multiplicity of stylus-oriented apps created by developers.
Last but definitely not less important, the iPad Pro is scheduled to hit US Apple Stores in November. When it comes to pricing details, the device will come in three different variations, the 32GB model will cost $799, the 128GB Wi-Fi only variant will be sold for $949, whereas if you decide to buy the 128GB Wi-Fi and Cellular data model, you will need to prepare to spare as much as $1079. Unfortunately, accessories like the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil does not come with the iPad and will be offered separately.
