Cricket Wireless added the Alcatel Streak to their lineup
Just yesterday we reported that Cricket Wireless is about to add LG X Power to its Android smartphones portfolio. Today the carrier’s offer has expanded by another Android device, the Alcatel Streak. Being the Alcatel’s latest pocket-friendly offering the phone is now within your reach for less than $30 without any long term contracts. For that little money, you will get a pretty capable device offering 4G LTE speeds packed in a compact body featuring 4.5-inch touch screen.

Cricket Wireless added the Alcatel Streak to its offer. Priced at just $29.99 the phone offers a compact design and 4G LTE connectivity.

Although the recently announced LG X Power is a completely new device, the Alcatel Streak has been known to Boost and Virgin Mobile’s subscribers as the Alcatel Dawn. Except for a different name, the phone sports exactly the same set of specs. This means that it comes packed in a 132.2 x 65.1×10.01 mm body case housing a small as for current standards 4.5-inch FWVGA display sporting 854x480p of resolution, which in turn translates to poor 218 ppi of pixel density.

However, interestingly enough, driven by a 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor with Adreno 304 GPU in charge of graphics, the Streak provides its potential users 4G LTE connectivity. And frankly speaking it would be hard to find another phone in this price sector to offer this still pretty modern connectivity feature.

The Streak runs on Android Marshmallow out of box, meanwhile, ROM and RAM are represented by 8GB and 1GB, respectively. But, it’s surely worth noting that the handset’s built-in storage may be expanded up to 32GB via microSD cards. In the optics department, the Streak offers a combination of a 5MP primary snapper with LED flash and 2MP selfie front-facing sensor. Powered by a 1,780 mAh battery the phone is promised to deliver 6 hours of talk-time and up to 180 hours on standby mode, thanks to a battery saver mode.

Cricket Wireless is currently selling the Alcatel Streak for $29.99 for customers willing to open a new line. There’s a wide range of data plans you can choose among. For instance, the Basic $40 plan delivers 2.5GB data cap, whereas the Smart $50 plan gives 5GB of monthly data allotment at your disposal. In addition, for $10 more you can sign up for a Pro plan offering whooping 10GB, and if this is still not enough to you can get truly unlimited data for just $70 per month.

Beside Cricket’s stores, the Alcatel Streak is also available at Best Buy, where is sold for $49.99.
