There’s a good news for you since Alcatel has just introduced they very first smartwatch, simply called OneTouch Watch, opening a new market segment that is the budget-friendly smartwatches. So far the company hasn’t given any details concerning the wearable pricing or hardware specs, though we may expect to learn them soon at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that kicks off on January 6th.
Alcatel OneTouch Watch circular smartwatch
Alcatel claims that their first smartwatch will combine premium, circular design and affordable price tag. The OneTouch Watch’s fine finishing is to deliver its future users’ a look and feel similar to the one delivered by a traditional watch.
The smartwatch’s regular round face makes the gadget looks much like a Moto 360, though the manufacturer seems to manage to solve the Motorola’s problem with a semi-circular display. Still, the screen doesn’t looks like filling the entire face of the Watch. In addition, the gadget’s display will be a fully functional inner screen encircled by a semi-active ring.
What’s more, the physical appearance isn’t the Watch’s one and only advantage. The classy looking body is also housing a full package of watchfaces styles and apps that are said to enable its future users to monitor their daily activity. So, we may assume that it will go on sale equipped with pedometer and heart rate sensor.
Furthermore, Alcatel promises that the device will be compatible with Android phones, allowing its users to control music, check notifications and take photos and many more. Other than that the gadget will also offer a variety of wristband options from plastic looking sport strap to business class metal bracelet that looks definitely more formal.
Although the OneTouch Watch is reported to hit shelves of retailers labeled with smart affordable price tag, the manufacturer hasn’t specified how budget-friendly it will be. In other words, during this year’s CES event we may witness the debut of a first low-budget circular smartwatch.
It is also worth mentioning that along with the announced earlier the OneTouch PIXI 3, the Watch will create a new Alcatel’s lineup series named OS agnostic.
