It seems that T-Mobile and Metro PCS want to expand their cooperation with Alcatel. The both carriers have recently announced adding two more Alcatel smartphones to their lists of offerings. Both, the OneTouch Fierce 2 and Evolve 2 will be available at T-Mobile since September 10th and later this fall they will join the Metro PCS’s offer just as well. As a mid-range devices they should fit the needs of smartphone users with limited budget.
Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2 and Evolve 2
Both devices run Android 4.4 KitKat and come with pretty decent tech parameters as for the pricing. The Fierce 2, which is larger and more impressive than Evolve 2, can be yours for $126 or for $0 at start with $5.25 for 24 months on the T-Mobile Equipment Installment Plan. The other device, Evolve 2, goes for $79.20 or for $3.30 per month.
In case it skip your memory, the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2 houses a 5-inch display with resolution of 960x540p and a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and paired with 1 GB RAM. The phone is also equipped with 4GB built-in storage which is definitely too small amount of space as for a smartphone, but luckily there’s also a microSD slot than enables you to extend the memory up to 32GB.
Additionally, the Fierce 2 sports 5-megapixel Full HD autofocus main camera accompanied by VGA front-facing one, so it looks like its future users should rather forget about making decent selfies. The device’s only 9 mm thick body houses a 2,000 mAh battery that will deliver 6 hours of talk time or 360 hours on standby mode.
The second of the discussed today Alcatel smartphones joining T-Mobile, Evolve 2, rocks smaller only 480x800p 4-inch screen and weaker dual-core 1.2GHz chipset coupled with 512MB RAM. The internal storage has the same amount of space as the Fierce 2’s which gives us 4GB plus up to 32GB that can be added via microSD cards. Furthermore, the Evolve 2’s optics also don’t deserve to be given too much attention, since the phone just like the Fierce 5 has nothing more but the 5-megapixel main camera with additional VGA front-facing shooter. All these will be powered by a 1,400mAh battery. Fortunately, Android 4.4 was designed to work on basic hardware like the Evolve 2, so hopefully its users shouldn’t have any serious performance problems when using it.
