Three unannounced smartphones have just quietly appeared on Alcatel website. All three devices are members of the One Touch family and include the Idol X, Idol S and Idol Mini. The Alcatel One Touch Idol X is a 5-incher featuring a Full HD “’0’ bezel Edge to Edge” display with Dragontrail Glass and oleophobic coating. The phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and offers 2 GB of RAM with 8 GB (single SIM) and 16 GB (dual-SIM) of internal memory. The handset also packs 13.1-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2000 mAh battery. The One Touch Idol X runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
One Touch Idol X vs. Idol S vs. Idol Mini
The Alcatel One Touch Idol S comes with a 4.7-inch IPS HD display, which just like the Idol X is covered with Dragontrail Glass and oleophobic coating. Driving the phone is a 1.2 GHz chip with two cores, supported by 1 GB of RAM. The device comes with 4 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD slot.
Photographic experience is provided by an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Tethering, Wi-Fi Display, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and A-GPS. The phone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The smallest of the trio, Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini, rocks a 4.3-inch IPS FWVGA display with oleophobic coating. Under the hood, the phone has a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and 512 MB of RAM. The device will be available in two versions with single and dual-SIM support.
The amount of internal memory depends on the version – single SIM model offers 4 GB of storage, while dual-SIM variant comes with 8 GB of memory. The single SIM model additionally has microSD support. Other features include 5-megapixel main camera, VGA front-facing camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
