Starting today we can officially add one more smartphone to the long list of upcoming Alcatel handsets. The company has announced its latest mid-range offering, the One Touch Star, that comes with pretty looks and modest specs. The handset is currently listed in Sweden at SEK 2,000, which is around $310. That’s an unsubsidized price, of course. The phone is expected to be show off at World Mobile Congress later this month, so we will have more details soon. Here is what we know about the device so far.
Alcatel One Touch Star – Overview
The Alcatel One Touch Star features 4-inch AMOLED display with 480 x 800 resolution, a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. The phone is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor paired with 512 MB of RAM and offers 4 GB of internal memory (with approximately 2.4 GB available to the user) and microSD card slot for storage expansion.
The handset comes with a 1,500 mAh battery, runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is expected to launch in both single and dual SIM versions (model numbers 6010 and 6010D respectively).
The specs may not be too impressive but this “petite and devilishly bright” handset is actually quite handsome. It weighs just 4.20 ounces (119 grams) while measuring 0.38 inch (9.7 mm) in thickness and will be offered in several different color combos, including a snazzy white-and-pink scheme.
So, anyone interested in the Star?
