Acer announces affordable 5-inch Liquid Z500 along with two Iconia tablets

Acer Liquid Z500Acer has announced another low cost smartphone during the massive trade show IFA 2014 organized in Berlin. Named as Liquid Z500, the handset mainly targets music loving youths who like to listen to music on the go and would love to purchase an affordable cheap smartphone. The device sports dual front-speakers, and based on manufacturer’s promises, the listener can reach the CD quality audio from the “powerful and advanced” front speaker system that the Acer Liquid Z500 is equipped with. Along with the smartphone, Acer has also revealed two new Android tablets – the Iconia One 8 and Iconia Tab 10. Let’s take a look at all the three devices what they have to offer.

acer Liquid Z500The new Acer Liquid Z500 sports a 5-inch IPS screen and an 8-megapixel main camera located in the back. Its connectivity includes: Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. The handset is 8.6 mm thick and is available in three colors: Titanium Black, Sandy Silver and Aquamarine Green.

Although the features won’t be highly impressive, it can be asserted that the handset is a modest device with decent price. The device is expected to be launched in September and will be priced at 149 euros which would be 195 dollars.

Alongside the smartphone, Acer has also announced launching of two Android tablets – the Iconia One 8 and Iconia Tab 10. The Iconia One 8 is an 8-inch tablet with a resolution of 1280×800 and is powered by an Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core CPU with Android 4.4 KitKat as the platform of choice.

The slate will arrive to the market priced at 149€ which is an equivalent of $195. It will be available in an impressive number of 10 color options. The tablet is expected to be available first in EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) in October. So far, there have been no word on its availability in US.

The Acer Icona Tab 10, on the other hand, features a 10-inch full-HD panel with quad-core MediaTek processor. It is coated with Corning’s Gorilla Glass for better scratch resistance. At this point there is not much known about the slate. The tablet will be available later this month in the US priced at $199.
