So far, Acer smartphones are out of reach of the US customers. But everything suggests that the company is just about to change it policy with announcement on a new phablet – Acer Liquid X2. The device is scheduled to hit the US market as soon as May. Sporting a massive battery and three SIM card slots, the Liquid X2 appears to be a perfect companion of every globetrotter.
Acer Liquid X2 three-SIM phablet
The Acer Liquid X2 comes equipped with a package of specs that any flagship smartphone wouldn’t be ashamed of. It houses a large 5.5-inch and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor. On the optics side the phablet users can enjoy two 13-megapixel cameras, one located on the phone’s rear side, second on the front. What means selfie quality comparable with the HTC’s Desire Eye standards. When it comes to the already mentioned powerful battery, the device will be kept alive by a massive 4,000 mAh unit.
Moving on to the Liquid X2 biggest selling point that are three SIM card slots, such a feature will definitely make the phone interesting option for all those who love travelling around the globe. Instead of one or even two SIM cards, the upcoming Liquid 2X delivers three SIM cards, so you won’t need to remember about switching between your numbers. Of course, this is not the first time when Acer releases a tri-SIM phone, last summer the manufacturer launched the Liquid E700. But, the Liquid X2 is surely a more higher-end option than the mentioned 5-incher.
The new Acer’s phablet will debut will Acer’s own software tweaks on the board, which are said to enhance Android performance and be compatible with the company’s other products. So, there will be customizable digital switches which will be displayed through cutouts in the Quick Flip, which is the device’s official cover case. The software tweaks are designed to make the access to some phone’s functions much easier and faster. So, you can quickly turn on the phone’s camera, open various apps or even play a small game without the necessity to open up the device’s case.
As for launching and pricing details, at this point we still have very little officially confirmed information. However, the Liquid X2 is speculated to debut in Asia in May or August, then it will spread to other markets, including the US. The phone is expected to be a budget-friendly offering labeled with a price tag of something around $200. Time will tell whether a tri-SIM phablet will gain ground in the US, a market where dual-SIM phones are still not very popular.
