5.9-inch Pantech Vega Note 4G LTE-A with top-secret feature to be officially announced on October 10th
A new phablet is on its way to stores in Asia, or South Korea to be more exact. Called, Pantech Vega Note, the huge-screen phone is made by Pantech and will have its official introduction in a little over a week. The company sent out invitations to Korean press for a special event that will take place on October 10th at 11.00 AM local time. The invitation shows the back of the device with an intriguing looking wax seal that obviously covers some top-secret feature.
Vega Note may feature fingerprint scanner…
Can you guess what it is? Yes, it appears to a fingerprint scanner. While this particular feature has not been confirmed by Pantech, the fingerprint in the corner of the invitation seem to hint that the Pantech Vega Note will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner. If it is true, the Vega Note will be the third smartphone, right after the iPhone 5S and HTC One Max, to bring phone security to a whole new level.
The rumored fingerprint scanner together with other high-end specs clearly show that Pantech put serious effort into building the Vega Note. The handset packs a 5.9-inch Full HD display that can be operated with a stylus bundled with the device.
The phone is powered by a quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and supports super fast LTE-A connectivity with data speed reaching up to 150 Mbps. The Pantech Vega Note also offers 2 GB of RAM and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
For the time being, the phone will be available only in Korea. We are not sure when and if the handset ever arrives at the US shore, however, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
