128GB iPad with Retina Display – What’s new.
This off-cycle tablet release surprised a lot of people. The first hint that Apple is about to launch a larger capacity iOS device came with the iOS 6.1 software update from last week. Soon after that, the company confirmed that the iPad will be available starting February 5. In a press release Apple explained that with this high capacity tablet it is targeting a very specific group of customers, mainly enterprises, educators and artists.
Except for the increased storage, the new iPad is identical to the previous fourth-generation models with Retina Display. The 128GB iPad 4 offers the Apple-designed A6X processor which is up to twice as fast as the previous-generation A5X chip, a 9.7-inch Retina display which makes everything look crisp and lifelike, and a forward facing FaceTime HD camera, among others.
