Recent rumors suggest that Sprint might be looking to expand its portfolio with a new handset from Chinese manufacturer – ZTE. Referred to as the Quantum N8910, although probably it will be launched with a completely different name, the phone falls into mid-range to higher-end category of mobile devices.
ZTE Quantum 4G LTE for Sprint – Overview
The leaked images do not reveal any visible carrier branding but according to an anonymous tipster, the device will be head to Sprint, and it seems to be confirmed by a logo in the notification panel. This is very good news for Sprint customers, especially those aiming at big screens, high resolution camera and fast 4G LTE internet.
The ZTE Quantum will allegedly feature a 5-inch 720p display with a pixel density of 320 ppi and will have three capacitive buttons. The processor powering the device is rumored to be a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 with Adreno 225 crunching the graphics. There should be 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. We certainly hope for expandable storage, but so far there is no word on the existence of microSD slot.
The handset will supposedly come with two cameras – a 13 megapixel main camera and a 0.9 megapixel shooter on the front. Other features will include NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Since Sprint used embedded SIMs for LTE before, the inclusion of a SIM slot may suggest that the handset could be a global phone.
