There is no doubt that being one of the leaders of the smartphone market is a dream of most smartphone manufacturers. ZTE may be popular with Asian customers but yet there is still a long way to go to the top in global scale. However, with the announcement of its latest two phones we believe the company took a step or two forward in that direction. As expected, ZTE unveiled today the ZTE Nubia Z5S and Nubia Z5S Mini.
ZTE Nubia Z5S and Nubia Z5S Mini
The ZTE Nubia Z5S will hit the stores on November 26th costing 1,999 Yuan, which is around $328, for the 16 GB 3G model, and 3,456 Yuan, or $567 for the 32 GB LTE version. The Nubia Z5S Mini will be priced at 1,499 Yuan, or $246, for the 16 GB 3G variant, and 2,345 Yuan which is about $348 for the 32 GB LTE version.
The ZTE Nubia Z5S is a 5-inch phablet equipped with a 1080p Sharp IGZO display and running on a quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. The phone comes with 2 GB of RAM, dual-band Wi-Fi support, infrared remote capability and a 2,300 mAh battery. The handset also packs a 13-megapixel rear camera featuring f/2.0 aperture, optical image stabilization, 120 fps capability and 4K video capture. The OS of choice is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and the handset will be available in white and black only.
The ZTE Nubia Z5S Mini is not actually as mini as you might have imagined with a screen measuring 4.7 inches diagonally. The smaller of the siblings sports a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Among other interesting features of the Nubia Z5S Mini there is a 13-megapixel rear camera, with no OIS though, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Unlike the bigger brother, the Z5S Mini will be available in four colors including red, yellow, blue and green.
