As you may know, the LG Lucid does not belong to the most popular smartphones at Verizon portfolio, but apparently LG wants to give the phone a second chance as is planning to release a follow-up. We have heard more than once that the Lucid 2 is on its way and according to the recent rumors, the handset is scheduled for launch on Verizon network on April 4. There is no word about how it might cost, but price above $50 on contract seems like a safe bet.
LG Lucid 2 vs LG Optimus F5 – Overivew
Some source earlier reported that the second-generation Lucid is actually the recently unveiled Optimus F5, but now it looks like they are not entirely identical. The most noticeable difference is the battery capacity. The Lucid 2 is said to come with a 2,460 mAh battery, which is a nice upgrade from its younger brother’s 1,700 mAh unit. It is also more powerful than the 2,150 mAh battery used in the Optimus F5.
Aside from the battery size, other specs seem to confirm that the Lucid 2 is indeed a rebranded LG Optimus F5. It allegedly comes with the same 4.3-inch AH-IPS display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution and is powered by identical dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. It is said to run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and feature 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 5 megapixel rear camera, 4G LTE, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. The handset is also speculated to offer storage expansion slot for up to 64 GB cards and wireless charging.
