Remember when we mentioned about Sony Xperia L passing FCC agency? Here is an update. If you have been thinking of purchasing a new Sony smartphone, you should know that the Xperia L is now available for purchase in the US. The manufacturer is selling the phone through its official Sony online store. The phone is priced at $349.99 and comes with the advantage of being contract free, which means that you don’t have to sign up any long term contract. Plus, the phone is factory unlocked so you will not be limited to one carrier.

The Sony Xperia L is an entry-level device which was announced in March this year. The phone features a 4.3-inch 480 x 854 FWVGA SCHOTT display with scratch-resistant layer. The phone is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8230 processor with Adreno 305 crunching graphics.
In terms of memory the handset offers 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of onboard storage expandable via microSD slot compatible with up to 32 GB cards. The phone packs UMTS 21 Mbps HSPA+ 850/1700/1900/2100 radios which will work with AT&T and T-Mobile networks.
The Sony Xperia L sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor. The camera offers a number of shooting options including face detection, fast capture, HDR for both picture and movie, quick launch, smile detection, red-eye reduction and more.
The device also has a front-facing camera for video chatting. Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, the Xperia L offers NFC connectivity, A-GPS support and Wi-Fi. Power is delivered by a 1750 mAh battery good for up to 9 hours talk time, up to 498 hours standby time, up to 7.3 hours video playback time and up to 43 hours music listening time.
The phone will be available in three color options: black, white and red.
