During a special UNcarrier event in New York, T-Mobile made it clear that it is moving away from traditional approach to selling on-contract devices. The carrier unveiled its new plans starting at $50 per month for unlimited talk, text, 500 MB of data and give customers the opportunity of purchasing high-end devices without the obligation to sign contracts. However, since the price of the phone will have to paid in full, you will still be tied to T-Mobile for about 2 years if you choose monthly installment plan.
HTC One will arrive to T-Mobile at price $99
In addition, the carrier announced the availability of its new LTE network as well as a bunch of LTE-enabled smartphones. One of them is the flagship device HTC One. The phone will be available for $99 up-front with monthly installments, though T-Mobile did not reveal how much these monthly payments will amount to. Given that the iPhone 5 will come with monthly installments of $20, $15-$20 per month for the HTC One seems very probable.
The HTC One features a 4.7-inch LCD3 display with 1080 x 1920 resolution, pixel density of 469 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for extra protection. The handset is powered by a quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and offers 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory. The phone runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and also comes with a 4 megapixel rear camera, 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera, support for LTE and HSPA+, Beats Audio sound enhancement and more.
