T-Mobile iPhone 5, 4S and 4 – Prices & Plans
We may say, that today is a historic day for many T-Mobile subscribers. It’s been almost six years since the very first Apple iPhone was introduced to the public. During this period newer versions of the phone have already hit regional carriers stores such as Virgin Mobile or Metro PCS, and it’s not until now that the second largest GSM carrier in the US gets their own. T-Mobile users, today is the day and $99 price seems to be very tempting. Let us explain how it works and what you need to know before you jump in for this one.
Last week, we brought you news that T-Mobile announced its new UNcarrier plans that no longer obligate subscribers to sign up 2-year contracts. Instead, as we said earlier, the carrier offers a 16GB iPhone 5 for $99 upfront which also requires 24 months of $20 payments on its Simple Choice plan. If you are not so enthusiastic about it, you may pay lump sum of $579.99 in full, which is $70 less than an unlocked iPhone 5 purchased directly from Apple store. The 32GB iPhone 5 is sold at $199 and 64GB version is available for $$299.
In terms of hardware and software, the T-Mobile iPhone 5 is not much different from the models released on different networks. Inside it hums a Apple A6 processor, latest iOS, and its 4-inch Retina display has a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixel resolution at 326 ppi. On its back we have an 8 megapixel iSight camera plus 1.2 megapixel front shooter for video chats. While some models supports LTE, the T-Mobile variant relies on 42Mbps HSPA+ connectivity.
Beyond the iPhone 5, T-Mobile also offers the iPhone 4S, which priced at $69.99 upfront with payments of $20 per month, while the iPhone 4 costs $14.99 plus a $15 monthly charge. The older generations of the iPhone will only be available in select markets.
