Samsung and Apple are proudly touting their upcoming smartwatches, but the fact is that there are already quite decent intelligent timepieces on the market, like the SmartWatch by Sony. The device may not be as advanced as the smartwatches that Samsung and Apple are currently working on, but it is still a nifty and quite useful gadget and it is priced at just $130. Now, thanks to a new software update, the watch is even better.
Sony SmartWatch Update – What’s new.
In case you have not received a notification on your Android smartphone, the update is available for download at Google Play and includes a lot of interesting features and improvements. First of all, with the update you will get six new watch faces, from traditional dual-hand design, through digital clocks to creative abstract faces, so you will certainly find something you like. Apart from the new faces, the update also includes notification previews, which will allow you to see snippets of incoming messages, tweets, Facebook posts and more.
Sony also improved searching by adding categorized sorting to make it easier for you to find what you are looking in the catalog of over 200 apps. The update also brings more intuitive, aligned interface across SmartWatch and Smart Connect together with a QR Code to facilitate connection with a non-Sony phone. And last but not least, the battery life indicator was improved as well. Together with software update, SmartWatch users will also be treated to two new color bands from Sony – turquoise and purple, as well as fresh designs from third-party makers.
