The release should occur in August or September.

Samsung RedwoodThe first device to ship with the new OS has been confirmed and it is the Samsung GT-I8805, codenamed Redwood. The handset was discovered in the UAProf of Samsung’s website. It looks like the phone will come with a HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen exact size remains unknown at this point. The device apparently will offer LTE connectivity and will be powered by a Cortex A9 based processor.

Images from Tizen Greek Community reveals the renders of the upcoming Samsung Redwood GT-I8805. The pictured phone runs Tizen 2.1 operating system that comes featured with S-Voice. It is also probable that along with the Samsung GT-I8805 Redwood, another Tizen smartphone will be introduced around the same time. The Samsung GT-i8800 Melius, as it is the one we are talking about, should be very similar in terms of specs but with no LTE connectivity.
