Just a three days ago AT&T announced its new affordable Android smartphone to be launched on its network – the Pantech Discover, but it looks like we may have more of them coming soon to other service providers. Although the manufacturer did not officially announced, the Pantech Perception, which may be Verizon’s version of the Discover, is heading to the carrier within the next three months. This would be a good news for Verizon subscribers, since despite of the device’s high-end specs, which matches the Galaxy S III, the phone will be for sale for just $49.99 on contract.
The speculation is accompanied with the leaked image of Pantech Android smartphone with Verizon logo on the front. The Pantech Perception promises a 4.8-inch HD display offering 1280 x 720 resolution, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.
Since the recently unveiled Pantech Discover is manufacturer’s first handset in the US to offer a smartphone with HD 720p display it is quite possible that the Pantech Perception will be its Verizon’s version. Moreover both handsets come with the same screen size – 4.8-inch. If it was true, the Perception will come with dual-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and wallet friendly price tag of $49.99 with 2-year contract.
More rumors about the Pantech Perception for Verizon, hopefully with more confirmed details, will surely appear soon, and we will keep you posted.
