NEC might have just found a solution to the problem of overheating smartphones. The Japanese manufacturer announced today the Medias X N-06E – the first phone ever to come with a water-filled heatpipe intended to cool the processor. Since similar technology has never been used in a smartphone, it certainly make the NEC Medias X N-06E one of a kind. The handset will be available on DoCoMo some time in June. We still have to wait for details on pricing.
NEC Medias X Android Phone for women
As for the phone itself, the NEC Medias X was designed with women in mind. A telltale sign of the Medias X 06E being aimed at female part of Japanese population is its pink and white body, plus an option to adorn the handset with special “jewelry”. The device sports a 4.7-inch 720p OLED screen and a 13.1-megapixel Exmor RS camera. The NEC Medias X 06E is powered by a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Other features include LTE support and IP58 certification.
As you can see, specs are pretty decent, however, they do not bring anything we have not already seen in other smartphones. So the big questions is – does NEC Medias X 06E really need such advanced cooling system? Maybe. However, more probable is that the company is just testing its new technology on a device aimed at a certain group of users before implementing it into other premium smartphones.
