The first mention about the ZTE Mustang dates back to early June. Now fast-forward two months. It is early August and the phone is up on ZTE’s US website revealing all the details a potential buyer would be interested in. The device is destined for AT&T and will arrive simply as the AT&T Z998 with no ZTE branding. The carrier has not made any announcements yet, however, the appearance of the phone on the manufacturer’s clearly indicates that the handset is on its way to AT&T stores.
ZTE Mustang Z998 for AT&T
The ZTE Mustang Z998 for AT&T is a mid-range device offering specs typical for its category. The phone features a 4.5-inch TFT touch screen display with a 540 x 960 resolution and is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus processor accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. Internal memory offers 4 GB of storage space with microSD slot for expansion supporting up to 32 GB cards. The handset’s 2070 mAh battery provides up to 4 hours of talk time.
The AT&T Z998 packs a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 720p video capture. There is also a 1-megapixel user-facing camera perfect for self-portraits and video chatting. In addition to LTE support, the AT&T Z988 also offers the usual array of connectivity tools such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS navigation.
The phone will arrive running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
