LG Spectrum 2 arrived to Verizon at price $99 on contract

Although we still have no idea what exactly happened that day, we have more information about the phone and it is worth your attention. Today the Spectrum 2 made the offcial appearance on Verizon’s website, thus confirming the rumors about its imminent launch.

The new LG Spectrum 2 is selling for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and requires a new 2-year contract with Verizon. As a nice bonus from the carrier, it will be shipped to you for free.

LG Spectrum 2 for Verizon | Cheap PhonesThe LG Spectrum 2 for Verizon is quite well equipped for its price. It features a 4.7-inch True HD Advanced High Performance (AH) In-Plane-Switching (IPS) display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and support for 16 million colors protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. As far as memory is concerned, there is 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card slot.

The LG Spectrum 2 sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture, and a 1.3 megapixel front shooter perfect for video chatting. If you want to be more creative while taking your photos, the camera offers various shooting options, including Time Catch Shot, Say Cheese Shot, and Shot Modes. There is also an image and video editing app, which allows you to rename, crop, rotate, add effects, adjust contrast and color tones, as well as make and edit your own movies.

The smartphone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is probably the biggest disappointment, and as of today there is no word on possible Jelly Bean update. The device comes pre-loaded with various apps by Google, Verizon and Amazon, among which you will find Gmail, Google+, Latitude, Local Maps, Messenger, Navigation, Play Books, Play Movies, Play Music, Play Store, Talk, YouTube, Viewdini, NFL Mobile, Guided Tours, My Verizon Mobile, Verizon Tones, Verizon Video, VZ Navigator, Visual Voicemail, Kindle, Shop, Music, IMBd, Audible, Zappos, Facebook, Twitter and more.

In terms of connectivity the device offers Bluetooth version 4.0 with support for a number of profiles, for example HSP, HFP, SPP, A2DP (Stereo), OPP for vCard, FTP, GAVDP, AVDTP, AVCTP, HID, and MAP, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a with Wi-Fi hotspot capability so you will be able to share a 4G data connection with up to 10 other devices or 3G with up to 5 devices. The phone also supports Near Field Communication and comes with LG Tag+ stickers to create special smartphone modes for the office, home or car by tapping the stickers with the Spectrum 2.One of the most interesting features is built-in wireless charging, which will let you add juice without cables.

The LG Spectrum 2 also packs a music player compatible with MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, and WAV formats. A video player supporting DivX, WMV, MP4, 3GP, and 3G2 formats. QuickMemo, which allows you to create memos by taking screen captures and adding drawings or messages. Android Beam, thanks to which you will be able to share contacts, web pages, videos, directions, and apps via NFC, and SmartShare, which lets you share media wirelessly to DLNA–enabled devices.
