While undoubtedly being an expert in computer technologies, Lenovo is not the most popular name in the smartphone world. That may change pretty soon. Rumor has it that apart from the IdeaPhone K900, the world’s fastest Intel-powered handheld to date, the company is working on one more phone. The mysterious device, referred to as P780, is allegedly scheduled for release as soon as May and is expected to cost unlocked just ¥1,999 in China, which is approximately $320.
Lenovo P780 to come with Android Jelly Bean
The Lenovo P780 will come with mostly mid-range specs but there is one thing that makes it stand out from the crowd – a huge 4,000 mAh battery. This is just 50 mAh short of world’s record currently held by the Huawei Ascend Mate. The fact that the P780 will offer average specs may be its big advantage, as it would mean that the monster battery will provide you with long hours or possibly days of use on one charge.
Other that that, the handset is said to feature a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, dual-core MediaTek MT6589 processor of yet unknown speed and 1 GB of RAM. The P780 is also rumored to come with 8 GB of internal memory (no word on microSD slot for memory expansion) and 8 megapixel rear camera. The phone is expected to ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, which is a major plus, since it is the latest iteration of the Android OS.
