AT&T has just added a new indestructible phone to its offer. The rugged Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro, which is an updated version of the Samsung Galaxy Rugby that was designed to survive even not too gentle handling.
The Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro is not afraid of water and dust and should remain as good as new even after a fall from a significant height. So how much does the carrier want for the Rugby Pro? Not that much. This Android smartphone will set you back just $99.99 if you are willing to sign a new 2-year service agreement.

The Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro for AT&T is definitely not the stellar top-end device, but unless you are a very demanding power user, you should not complain. The phone features a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and support for 16 million colors, as well as a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, 4x zoom and 720p video recording and 1.3-megapixel front shooter for self-portraits and video chatting.
The Galaxy Rugby Pro is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 processor. There is also 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of on board storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers 3G and 4G connections together with ultra fast LTE speeds, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with hotspot capability, so you can pair your Rugby Pro with up to 10 other devices for example laptops, PCs and tablets, Bluetooth version 4.0 for wireless connection with Bluetooth enabled accessories for instance car kits or headsets, and NFC (Near Field Communication). The phone is also FOTA capable, meaning that you can upgrade firmware over the air.
The Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich so it comes with all the goodies you know and love about Android. You will have access to the full suite of Google apps, for example Gmail, Google Talk, Google+ Messenger, Google Maps with Streetview, Google Play and more. AT&T has thrown in a few of their own apps, some of which include AT&T Navigator, AT&T Address Book, AT&T FamilyMap, AT&T Code Scanner, myAT&T, AT&T U-verse Live TV, AT&T Hotspots, AT&T Locker, and YPmobile. The Rugby Prom comes pre-loaded also with Facebook, Kindle for Android, City ID, Qik Lite over WiFi.
The Galaxy phone is also built to 810g military specifications, meaning that it’s shock resistant, dustproof and waterproof in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. The micro-USB port is on the bottom under a tiny plastic door while the headphone jack is similarly protected at the top of the device.
Other features of the Galaxy Rugby Pro include: Enhanced Push-to-Talk, music player compatible with AAC, AAC+, AAC+V2, MP3 music files, predictive text entry, Android Webkit with HTML5 support, Google Chrome with Skyfire toolbar and a 1850 mAh battery, which guarantees up to 11 hours talk time and up to 12 days standby time.
