Learn more about Huawei Ascend Y

Huawei Ascend Y | Cheap PhonesThe Huawei Ascend Y for US Cellular sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen, which is on the smallish side compared with today’s larger-screen phones, but its 480 x 320 pixel resolution at 165 ppi is high enough to provide sharp and clear image. Under the hood you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7625A processor  clocked at 800 MHz with enhanced Adreno 200 for the graphics and 256 MB of RAM. The internal memory is only 120 MB but the phone comes with a 2 GB memory card and is compatible with up to 32 GB microSD card so rest assured, you will not run out of space too soon.

The Ascend Y is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel main camera, which will allow you to capture every important moment and share it with your friends and family. Unfortunately, there is no front shooter, so you will not be able to enjoy video chatting.

If you were hoping for the latest version of Android, you will be disappointed because the phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with little chances of Ice Cram Sandwich update. Even though the operating system is a bit outdated, it still provides access to most Google, for example Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk, Google Places Google Play, YouTube, Picasa and more.

The Huawei Ascend Y boasts a virtual keyboard with Swype technology, which makes typing much easier and faster. Swype tracks the movement of your fingers over the keyboard, predicts what you are going to write, and suggests the most probable words, thus enhancing the whole process of sending a text message or email.

The phone provides more than 4.8 hours of talk time and 12.7 days of standby time thanks to its 1400 mAh battery. Other features of the Ascend Y include: music player with the DTS Envelo audio technology for surround sound, full HTML browser, Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio, voice dialer, and some useful tools like calendar, calculator, alarm, and notepad.
