HTC Desire C for Cricket now available at carrier store for $179 without contract

HTC Desire CCricket just added new entry-level Android phone to its ranks – the HTC Desire C. The new smartphone is loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, HTC Sense 4.0, and Beats Audio technology. It is recommended for those looking for a premium experience at a budget friendly price. The HTC Desire C is offered at carrier’s site for $179. Since Cricket is a prepaid carrier, the phone is sold without contract with affordable smartphone plans starting at $50 per month.

Under the hood you will find a processor clocked at 600 MHz Cortex-A5 with Adreno 200 and 512 MB of RAM on board.

The device offers 4 GB internal memory and features Dropbox service, which provides extra 25 GB of online storage. Also the phone is compatible with microSD cards up to 32 GB so rest assured, you will not run out of space too soon.

The Desire C is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera and 720p video camcorder, which will allow you to capture every important moment and share it with your friends and family via social integrations through Facebook and Twitter. Unfortunately, there is no front shooter, so you will not be able to enjoy video chatting.

The HTC Desire C runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the HTC Sense 4.0 so you don’t have to be worry about getting stuck with an outdated operating system. The device comes pre-loaded with Google apps, like Gmail, Google Voice Search, Google Talk, Google Maps with Street View and Latitude, and social apps – Facebook, Twitter and Timescape.

In terms of connectivity the Desire C has support for Bluetooth, 3G EVDO Rev0 high speed data and is Wi-Fi b/g/n enabled. Also it offers users a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and micro USB connector. Its 1230 mAh battery offers up to 370 minutes talk time and up to 450 hours standby time.

Other features of the HTC Desire C include: music player with the Beats Audio for enhanced music experience, GPS navigation, full HTML browser, push email, and voice dialer.
