HTC definitely showed its best with its latest smartphone HTC One but it appears that at least some of its unique features may find their way to other handsets. A quick look though China’s TENAA database seems to confirm that. Leaked photos of the HTC 606w reveal two speakers on the front panel suggesting implementation of Boom Sound. There are also two soft keys, again a feature characteristic of the HTC One. And here is where the resemblance to the latest HTC flagship ends.
HTC 606w could be the HTC M4…
Some sources claimed that the 606w could be the HTC M4 mentioned two weeks ago. The M4 is believed to be a version of the HTC First, but without Facebook Home and with UltraPixel camera. However, others debunked that theory, so it looks like the HTC 606w will not get the UltraPixel camera after all, but will come with an ordinary 8-megapixel shooter instead. The handset is also equipped with a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and self-portraits.
Other specs are not too thrilling and scream mid-range. The phone features a 4.5-inch display with a 960 x 540 resolution and is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. There is 1 GB of RAM but so far no word on possible storage capacity. There is, however, microSD card slot, so at least we know that the memory will be expandable. The HTC 606w runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and features WCDMA radio.
